This is a common sense book and addresses some good entry-level concepts in health care professionalism. It is succinct - just enough for a one credit hour course with many options to expand if needed due to the availability of additional case studies or scanarios.
The powerpoints are OK but artificially long with each lecture objectives extending into three slides and then key points repeated on three slides again - not a big issue as I heavily modify mine anyway.
A big downfall though is lack of proper referencing of the provided information which in view of current academic practices is mind boggling...A lot of indices and numbers are provided to illustrate discussed topics (like the percentage of increase in health care jobs since 2007, amount of money spent by the government on each person in the US per year, etc.), yet it is not known which nummber is taken from AHA, the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, Institute of Medicine Report, journal publications, or perhaps these are the outcomes of primary data collection by the authors? Just general websites provided at the end without report or access dates. Disappointing.

I had hoped this text would be a good complement to a soft skills for health professions course that I teach. I was able to use only a few chapters from this text and have again decided to teach the course without a text... supplementing from readings, net resources, etc.
