From the minute Emily appeared in chapter one, I knew the workaholicad-exec needed a romance of her own. It would take a special guy to winher cautious heart. I decided to go all out and make that guy a realprince!

Prince Luc is not exactly Prince Charming. At least notwhen Emily first meets him. But I fell in love with him, and I hope youfind him as appealing as I did.

Fun, sweet, uplifting

Every once in a while a frog really does turn out to be a prince. The Cinderella Princess made a believer out of me. I was all ready to not like Prince Lucas Alexander Leopold Casimir von Rexburg since royalty and billionaires who feel entitled (yes, I know that they are popular right now) are not my favorite type of male main characters. However, in Melissa McClone’s capable hands, he truly did become princely. If he had owned a cowboy hat he would have been perfect! Nick is pretty perfect, too. Dylan is definitely a real frog.

Needless to say, but I will anyway - I love this novella. Short enough to read in an evening, it is a traditional sweet romance with a few interesting twists that cause anguish for the character before the happily ever after. Included are several female characters, Emily, Addie and Maria-Therese. I would want as friends. Caring, hardworking, honest and loyal, they are more alike than different no matter their social position. It’s a fun uplifting read.

This was a really cute, sweet, quick read. Would I have purchased it to read based on the synopsis? Yes, I would have.

This was a shorter book and there wasn't a whole lot to the story. Don't get me wrong, you have the back story for the main characters and a little bit for the supporting characters, but there's not much drama in this book and that's probably why it didn't catch my attention too well.

But then again, the break from all the drama filled books is kind of nice. That being said, this was a sweet story. You have the bad boy who's given an ultimatum and the good girl throwing herself into her work. There's no time for anything else and no time to seek out the things that are worth it. They just exist. Until one day...

I guess I was waiting for the big shebang or that "oh-hell-here-we-go" moment that is in most books lately. It never came, and I'm ok with that. not every book has to have those moments.

I did feel like there wasn't much info on the dates from either Emily or Luc's POV to really get what was going on. I think if we were in their heads and saw more and heard more thoughts during those times, this would have been a lot better and I could understand why the feelings between the two were as deep as what they were so quickly. And again, sometimes there is no explanation for it. It just is.

This was the first book written by Melissa McClone that I have read and I will continue to read her work. Just because it's not like the rest, doesn't mean it isn't worth reading. In fact, it's why I will look for more of her stuff!

Quick read

Modern day fairytale story, where the prince is looking for his forever match via reality television.
The story is fun and entertaining. For the first time, someone, that being Emily, is giving it straight to Luc. No finesse, not what he would expect to hear, but the simple truth of the matter. The sparks are flying, the banter is constant, and as Emily and Luc get to know each other, while looking for a wife for him, Emily finds out that there's so much more into this prince than tabloids are saying. And maybe what they are saying are not true at all.
While predictable, this story is pleasant and enjoyable. It is a clean, lively, and witty romance, a look behind of making of the reality television, and the awkward situations with dysfunctional families. Perfect, quick read for the Easter holidays for the romance lovers

I wish I would have had access to this great book as a teen!!

Many teens fear or dread the writing process. This book is for them! Teen romance blossoms as the brainy, confident Kirsten tutors the much less confident Juan. Add a writing contest wager that Juan can't afford to lose, and you have a compelling story line that teens can relate to. Teens will enjoy the ways that Mr. Taylor's spot-on guidance about what makes good writing is masterfully interwoven with the forward motion of the story. The author removes confusion and frustration for young writers with his concise advice, which he always supports with relevant examples. Teens who are good writers as well as teens who haven't yet had a break through will love this book. Topics of discussion include, but aren't limited to: social and political views of our time, how to get and keep a job, the importance of respect, the dangers of teens drinking and driving, and the value of true friendship. I would recommend it to my own students and grandchildren,

My husband and his family speak Lao and I want to learn more so I can understand somethings with out it needing to have it translated, I love that you can look words up in either lao or english and see how it is translated.

The Best Phrasebook for Lao

I think this is the best phrasebook I've seen for the Lao language. I've used it on several trips to Laos and shared it with some Lao friends in America. They were very impressed that the sentences were written as they really say them, not like you see in a textbook. The book is from a New York publisher of language books that publishes books with high standards.
Other good things I found about the book:
1. It has a clear, concise grammar section
2. the selection of words and topics is comprehensive
3. the book is arranged in a way that is very easy to use
4. the introductory description of Lao is interesting and informative
I'd also like to say that the pronunciation system is the easiest I've seen. Tones are marked by lines that show the direction, which makes pronunciation a lot more clear than other books (this is also a problem with Thai). While there is no Lao script in the book the pronunciation can be figured out from the pronunciation chart in the front of the book. I think this book would be useful for people studying Lao, not only for travellers. Thank you Mr. Higbie for a creating a wonderful contribution to my library of S.E.Asian language books.

:Im paid to do research that requires use of a dictionary. thats not a dictionary, its a slim phrasebook.
:it can be useful for a person touring in the country its language is.

great book for people with a serious interest in Tokyo

Sorensen's book is a wonderful overview of the history of Tokyo (and Edo before it), from the point of view of the geographical and physical structure of the city and its development over time. The book should be read by anyone with a serious interest in the planning, architecture, or social history of Tokyo. Well illustrated with maps and plans many of which are not, to my knowledge, readily available to an English language audience elsewhere.

I feel a bit outrageous in assigning my own book five stars, but what can I say, I'm biased!

I am really just writing this note to let potential readers know that my book is winner of the International Planning History Society book award for best single-author book in planning history 2000-2003, awarded at the IPHS conference in Barcelona in July.
